Pacific Wave Travel Company
Below is a logo, brochure and webpage design for a fictional travel company called Pacific Wave. This company specializes in travel to California and specifically the Los Angeles area.
Using Illustrator I created the logo for the company. I first made the wave and then spent some time on the typography of the words. I wanted a font that seemed bubbly and fun, and actually ended up finding one called Californian. From there I wanted to color the wording to give sunshine vibes. For this I created a gradient using oranges and yellows to fill in the letters. The goal was to make the logo look like the sun and a wave to give California travel vibes.
Brochure Outside
Brochure Inside
Pacific Wave Travel is a company that focuses specifically on trips to the Los Angeles Area and a few surrounding cities. I wanted that to be clearly reflected in the company’s brochure.
In order for the whole design to feel cohesive I chose a color palette that us cohesive to the company logo. Even in the photos that were used. That is why I chose the navy blue for the background. This color works with the blues in the logo and also allows everything to stand out a bit more. Of course the accent colors was then the same blue in the wave on the logo and white. This helps make the design more cohesive and makes the branding much more consistent throughout.
Mobile Webpage Layout
Desktop Webpage Layout
When creating my homepage design for my travel company I started with a barebones outline of how I wanted it to look. I also decided I wanted to stick with the color scheme of my logo for the rest of the website. Above is the fully designed mobile and desktop page layouts created in InDesign.
As you can see the homepage presents all the company’s main information with an easy navigation menu at the top. I used the same font as the logo to make the design feel like one piece throughout. I also tried to pick images that were unique and could represent the type of trips you could take with the travel company.
Rather than creating a completely different design for a mobile device I wanted to make my webpage responsive. Doing this allows it to feel more cohesive with the general branding of the company. All the information, photos, etc are all the same on the mobile webpage but the layout is a bit simpler. This allows for easier navigation on smaller devices while presenting all the important information up front.
